the terms waste and garbage?
Ans. Waste is any unwanted or unusable remain or byproduct of materials or food.
Garbage is any
discarded rubbish, refused waste like used plastic item and wrapping material.

Ans. some common types of
waste can be

kitchen waste, sewage etc.

like chemical waste, Ashes etc.

waste from hospitals, schools, park etc

like fibres, husk, stalks etc.

Q.3. Who started Swachh Bharat Mission and what
is the main objective of Swachh Bharat Mission?
Ans. The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi launched the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM). The aim of this mission is to create an open defecation-free India by 2 October 2019.
Q.4. What are the components of
garbage?
Ans. The garbage may contain
a) Useful component – The things which can be converted either into compost, vermicompost, recycled or reused are called the useful component of garbage. Like plant and animal waste, any metal, paper etc.
b) Non useful component - The things which cannot be converted either into compost, vermicompost, recycled or reused are called the useful component of garbage. Like some kind of plastics etc.

Q.6. What type of garbage is collected

Ans. Segregation of waste is important, so all waste generators should start
segregating their waste into different categories. For this, different coloured dustbins can be
seen around.
1. The Green-coloured
dustbins are meant for wet and biodegradable wastes. For eg: kitchen wastes
including vegetables and fruits skins.
2. Blue
dustbins are meant for disposal of plastic wrappers and non-biodegradable wastes.

Yellow dustbins are meant for papers
and glass bottles.
4. Red dustbins are meant for Domestic Hazardous Waste (diapers, napkins, mosquito repellents, cleaning agents) before they hand it over to the collectors.
